The Nash stuff I've seen is waaaaaay better than that Revelator crap. Really.
I'd still buy a real JM though.

Re: Nash has blessed Toronto with another Jazzmaster...
I've never been impressed by the Nash's I've played. A friend bought two TRYING to love them, but they were just not that great. I have partsocasters that smoked them and cost a LOT less. I DID make the mistake of trying the Revelator route. The stuff on that guy's site looked fantastic, but he's as much of a shyster as anyone I've ever dealt with. I ordered a body after seeing on his site that he made them all himself ("to the original specs using the same machinery"-language which he took off the website about three or four months after I ordered mine). Told it would take six weeks. Six months later I was getting pissed. When he did bother to return emails, he had millions of excuses and when I asked for pics in progress (I thought reasonable since he had several hundred $$ of mine for months), his excuse was that his daughter had his camera at the Shore... Long story (rant!) longer, when I finally got the body and "aged" pickguard, they were horrible rattle can crap. The body was a wreck and to add insult to injury, was stamped "ALLPARTS" in the neck cavity. WTF?! He'd assured me that he only used USA Fender parts but he somehow forgot to take the "Made in Japan" sticker off the back of the horribly "reliced" pickguard (brown shoe polish and a screwdriver).
When I called him, he apologized and told me that he'd mistakenly sent me the wrong body-mine was right there in his shop. Of course! After about five seconds, I asked him how he could send out a POS like this to someone else or did someone actually order one with finish ripples and orange peel, etc. When I asked for my money back, he said that he "didn't have it at the moment", despite his 100% satisfaction guarantee/full refund language on his site. I've since gotten numerous emails from people who had similar stories, yet people sing his praises (often without yet having their orders in hand yet). Crazy.
Stay away. Stay FAR away.
Edited to add-wow-another Revelator fan!!!

I just don't think these guys are doing anything you can't do yourself with the information on this site.
It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

are you serious? i haven´t seen the work of revelator in person, but judging by the photos i´d say i would have a hard time separating them from original 60´s finishes. look at this one for instance.

but that´s just my opinion.

I think Nash uses aftermarket bodies.
The vibe I get off people about Nash guiatrs, is that it's the "Bargain Relic"
in all posts I've read about them on other messageboards (which were all about mostly Strats and Teles) they always go on about how much cheaper they are, than a Greenwich Village made relic, or a Fender Custom Shop one.

I guess they will become "collectible" just because they aren't made anymore.
The early production models seem to be much nicer than his recent stuff,
at least that's the imopression I get from user reviews @ harmonycentral.

Re: Nash has blessed Toronto with another Jazzmaster...
He probably spent alot of time and care on the earlier ones, when it was more a matter of love than money. I suppose that's how he got his name out there, and became "respected". But with that comes pressure to make more and make them faster, that's business.
People still buy them based on his reputation, and fool themselves into thinking they're getting something special. But the truth is, just about anyone with a screwdriver, a soldering iron, a sander, and a credit card could easily make one.
Just my opinion....

Revelator's pics are great on his site. What he doesn't tell you is that some of the stuff is actual vintage. I told him I wanted a pickguard like the one in a pic of a fiesta red Strat and he said it'll be "exact or better". After I got the lousy POS that didn't even fit the body he shipped it with and told him I thought I was getting one like the one in the pic. "Oh, that's a REAL 60s guard!".
Here are some examples the quite pricey work he spits out... Great if you are a fan of soft paint, orange peel, waves, rough cavities, Allparts bodies (which are ok for less $$ if you weren't told you were getting a handmade one), boot polish and steel wool relicing, MIJ non-Fender parts (when you paid for USA Fender, delays, BS lies, refunds that take a month or more (in installments).

What he may have failed to make clear is that the Fiesta Red POS you got was supposed to be a dead-on replica of a classic '60s Strat that was later spray-painted red by a kid in a garage somewhere. I mean, that's a really good representation of what THAT would look like, right? You have any idea of how much extra work went into that?!

My bad for not being clear! The one thing that I asked him to do was not to "oversand" the arm contour like Nash and lots of others often do. Dropped the ball there too! Lesson learned.

Re: Nash has blessed Toronto with another Jazzmaster...
I contacted both of them a while ago and they were too busy taking new orders.
I must say I am VERY GLAD none of them could take an order. I would be surprised
if my project JM would look worse than what they are selling for $$$$$$.
