Is 10° the Offset Golden Rule? (Unsettling photos ahead!)

Post by Stereordinary » Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:02 pm

If we were to say that a Jaguar's offset was 10°...
Image

Then what would happen if we offset a Tele the same amount?

Could it make a Strat look good?

Or what of we took the offset away from a Jazzmaster?

(Please don't send me threatening private messages, I'm just like, sayin'.  Y'know?)  ;) ;) ;) ;)

The jazzmaster looks kind of cute. Like as though a daddy jazzmaster and a mommy mustang forgot to use protection.

Dude
Thatz by far the coolest Tele and Strat bodies I have ever seen!
Offset bodies fit the human body better - Ergonomics, baby.

Big props to Stereordinary!

Thats pretty cool, I imagine it with a jag control plate, and Jazzmaster neck pickup, maybe a  big CBS headstock

I had a hacked up japanese strat with that pickup combination... sounded cool

The Tele looks way too much like a Lace Cybercaster:

I actually like the way the JM body looks...  I could see a custom like that.

I really like the Tele as well. The rest of them don't look too good to me. I think maybe I would like the JM better if the guard was slightly modified to not "lean forward" so much.

The only change I would make to the Tele would be to angle the control plate slightly to follow the oblong curve of the body.

The tele looks pretty cool like that, as for the Strat, it looks more like an 80's metal guitar with the angularity to me, brings out the pointyness in the horns.

THe Jazzmaster without the offset looks kinda like a non-reverse gibson firebird in a way.  Over offset and non-offset, I prefer the former over the latter, more comfortable to play for me.

Looks suspiciously like a Fodera, or is it a Fernandez...
