That is an awesome album title!Maggieo wrote:Well, I put a Badass bridge on it and I think it'll be a big part of my RPM 2007 Challenge album, but I think I'll relic it the old fashioned way, by playing the hell out it!Naturality wrote:Cool. I was so jazzed (heh) when i saw it, because I've been lusting after the AVRI Jaco bass and had designs on a CIJ Jaco-style that we can't get anymore.
I prefer their older stuff.

Ishibashi still have the pickguardless fretless jazz on their site, and they'll still send you stuff. Looks nice though, what's that writing on the pickups?Maggieo wrote:I know!!! Indonesia, actually, and it's impeccable in its fit and finish. Even the hardware is of the non-dookie kind- heck, the wires in the control cavity are cloth-covered! Nice neck. too.corona wrote: Nice bass,i been wantin a cij mustang bass

Well, this was almost $300 cheaper, so I'm OK with not getting the Fender CIJ. For now!FireAarro wrote: Ishibashi still have the pickguardless fretless jazz on their site, and they'll still send you stuff. Looks nice though, what's that writing on the pickups?

The pickups say "Duncan Designed." The sound pretty good, too. Easily as good as the Highway 1 Jazz Bass at the store.

Re: New offset in the house!
One of the employees at the shop nabbed the one that they had and, like me, put a Badass on it, and, like me, is going to rebadge it as a Fender. (just for giggles- I'm not going to try to pass it off as a real Fender on eBay or anything.)burker wrote: I just (yesterday) had a chance to try some of the squier basses like this one at the store, quite nice for the price, I'm interested in the fretted one in natural withthe black blocks and binding.... super 70s fun!

Re: New offset in the house!
How is the fretless treating you? Intonation alright for you? With those lines, that should help. I, too, recently got a fretless jazz... pieced it together from a nice ebay find, CIJ jazz body, tortoise with american vintage pickups, and a custom Warmoth neck... 21 frets and straight rosewood. I don't know, I got really used to playing upright, so it's nice to be playing fretless without lines, and I think rosewood sounds so good. Jaco had rosewood! Well, though, his was coated in epoxy, so maybe the stuff yours is made out of emulates that... anyhow, glad other people on the forum have fretless jazzes!

Well, the fretless is good so far, but I haven't tried playing it with anyone else! I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I'm too much of a beginner to play without the lines, you have my admiration, for sure.hobb_masta_flex wrote: How is the fretless treating you? Intonation alright for you? Yeah, the ebenol is supposed to be closer to his epoxied fingerboard. It's pretty cool.

Re: New offset in the house!
And you said you were going to re-badge it as a Fender Jazz? Do you know how to acquire a good decal for it? I've been trying to find one myself... a bare headstock is just too... bare!
