This is probably my favourite synthesizer ever:

Sure...
I really love string machines. I bought a really old Eminent Solina years ago which I still have today. It was the sound I heard on the records by Joy Divison and The Cure. Really icy, cold, complex string sounds with no limit on polyphony.
Years later I discovered that Joy Division used an Arp Omni II string machine not a solina, although they sound very similar.
Now the Arp Quadra is basically an extremely souped up Arp Omni.
The Quadra has that fantastic solina/omni string sound, but even better because it has stereo phaser built in. The phaser is one of the best sounding phasers ever, with many options. It has a very powerfull seperate bass section, a twin VCO monosynth, and a polysynth section. It is 4 part multi-timbral. All sections route to a mixer, have seperate outputs and are routable through the stereo phaser.
It also has an arpeggiator and portmento, and basic memories.
It basically a powerfull, fun machine that sounds truly amazing..probably the best sounding string synth ever built.
I own a Solina, Arp Quadra, Arp Omni II, Roland RS-505, VP-330 and an Roland RS-09..so im fully synth stringed out

What the hell do you NOT own?!?!
Is it possible to route other external signals through the phaser section of the quadra? I own a vintage mxr 100 phaser pedal which I really like (especially for my E-mu II solinas) though that one's mono...

Haha...you probably right..I question myself constantly! Im not rich..just got credit and an obssesion!! a bad combination.
Seriously though I've picked most thing up very cheaply...My Omni II was completely wrecked and very cheap..I spent a lot of time restoring it.
I got a memorymoog too...it only cost £700 and I actually got it for free as I bought an Oberheim Xpander from the same guy which I sold for a £700 profit. Again the Memorymoog was completely broken, I spent hours fixing it up!
Im not sure about the phaser on the Arp Quadra..The Quadra does have an external input and a slider to control the external volume but im not sure if it's routable to the phaser..Not tried it.

You have a superb collection, the Quadra in particular is a gem. I have the use of one occasionally and I love how it still sounds modern if used right.
