Holy smokes! it has a matching headstock as well!
I've seen the Strat & Tele thin skin AV's at Wildwood and figured they'd never do this for the Jag and Jazz. I'm really suprised!
If they do one in Sonic Blue with matching headstock, I'm all over it. I always figured I'd have to go Custom Shop for something like this.

I am shocked and thrilled to see it! Hope it's a sign of things to come.
Edit: Just noticed the radius and frets. Oh well. At least it's something.

Are these a custom run for Wildwood or something? Looks great!
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

This is exciting! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time.
I hope that's a mistake on the radius though. But I still like it either way.

Damn, that's a beautiful guitar. I hope this continues for a while.
I think a tort guard would also be great for that guitar.

I doubt it .. they had a custom run of something else Fender last year (maybe Nocasters?) and they were a flatter radius as requested specifically by Wildwood.

Yeah, the thin skin $trats and Teles have 9.5" radius too. I noticed that later on.

I like the old 7.25" radius the most by far, but after playing my Travis Bean which has NO radius AT ALL, I think I could quickly get used to 9.5" quickly

I think the Jaguar looks great.

My Rickenbackers have a 9.5 radius I believe and i think it's fine. These have larger frets too---6105 instead of 6230 but they're just slightly bigger. Those really aren't bad upgrades at all IMO and will actually increase the playability with the only expense being that nice radiused feel.

I don't mind the flatter radius on my Gibson's a bit. I have a strat that is 12" and it doesn't bother me too much, but it is a little weird. If this were a JM instead of a Jag, I'd be on the phone with them.
Bigger in sum than parts.

I'd have no problems with the radius or frets in terms of playability, I just meant it would be exciting if Fender was doing new stuff with the AVRIs. This is certainly just a custom run for the dealer.

Nope! Possibly THE best dealer in the US (Dave's Guitar in Lacrosse, WI) is getting these in this week. In, get this, fiesta red, shorline gold, foam green and SONIC BLUE.
Get yer checkbooks out-oh yeah, my guess is that Dave's will be a little cheaper than Wildwood. VERY COOL-just wish that there were some JMs in there!
