i listed my amp on craigslist, and i got someone who wanted to buy it really bad. he said hed been looking for the 2x12 version and really wanted to buy it. i said sure you can come down to my practice space and check it out. that was last night.

apparently, the guy who gave me the amp decided he wanted it back. instead of asking me for it back and saying he made a mistake in letting me have it, he told a bunch of his friends that i stole it. so, this guy who ive never met comes and picks me up from my house, we ar talking about music and having a good convo, and he drives me to my practice spot so he can check the amp out.

im unlocking the door and he asks me if there is a place to go to the bathroom, and i point him in the direction. he leaves and i go inside and pull the amp out. i look up from the amp and about 20 asian dudes (not geeky ones, like, gangsters) come out of nowhere and surround me. they all start yelling and saying im trying to sell this amp that i stole. i try to explain and tell them that he gave it to me, and then i feel something heavy hit my head.

then 20 or so guys start beating on me, knocking me over, kicking me in the ribs. i blacked out. they bounced cuz the guys next door told them they were calling the cops.

they took the marshall. thank god they didnt take anything else. i spent the remainder of the night in the er with my drummer and girlfriend. my drummer was on his way to the spot when it happened. we were gonna practice for our show saturday.

they broke 2 ribs, ive got a swollen jaw, i have a concussion, and im out an amplifier. i called the cops, made a report and i can id enough of the guys, so im pressing charges.

am i still playing the show on saturday. HELL YEAH. im not letting this crap bring me down.

the cop said i should be getting the amp back, plus maybe some money. most likely, because of my injuries, the guys will get aggravated assault and possibly jailtime.

Man, i'm truly sorry to hear this, and it's good that you weren't hurt worse. Those guys all sound totally gutless .. not brave enough to ask for a gift back, not brave enough to talk things through, not even brave enough to resort to violence one-on-one.

Dude! That's just crazy someone would do something like that! Glad you're OK and that the lawman is responding. I was just talking to a friend the other day who got robbed during the course of a craigslist sale. He was also selling an amp. Motherfucker pulled a gun on him! I was just about to list some items on craigslist but I think I'll use eBay instead. I just can't believe this shit! Man you're really fortunate that people we're around to call the cops. I would have crapped my pants if I got surrounded by a gang.

That is a horrible story, so sorry to hear!

I used to work at a recording studio and we were robbed, home invasion style, bound with duct tape, at gunpoint, by men in ski masks. Funny part is that they stole only the cheapest stuff - grabbed a Mackie mixer, but left behind the Neumann mics!

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Has the guy who basically brought all of this upon you even tried to explain himself? I mean, there is no true way to do that now, but what a serious scumbag for hiding  behind a group of thugs. I hope it works out for you.

thanks for the support guys. yeah i was literally crapping my pants when i saw all those guys. it was insane. i was scared outta my mind.

im glad those guys in the space next to mine came out and told those guys to get outta there, i woulda prolly got beaten worse if it wasnt for them.

funny thing was, the drummer from my ex band, picture atlantic was there. he like, brought the whole gang out. its so weird that they did it when i know them. they are so fucked. the cops are gonna ream them.
