Bass VI - "A too good to be real" deal?
If this is real, anyone who wants a Bass VI should jump on this!
http://www.guitartrader.com/itempg.icl? ... umitems=22
Can anyone verify??!
I would assume this is a missprint. Or something bogus.
If not, get out the checkbooks, credit cards etc...

The Jaguar Baritone Custom has a very unique sound, somewhere between a guitar and a bass, great for various lead and rhythm purposes
The Jaguar circuitry allows for great versatility with 7 different sound settings! The 2 single coil pickups are very responsive without producing a lot of hum or noise, the volume and tone controls are pretty sensitive and let you fine-tune the exact sound you need.

Sook,
That's my question too. They don't seem to say. But 8 years ago I got my MIJ RI VI for $609 US total cost w/ shipping.
In my extensive searching I was constantly pumped up, then deflated, ad nauseum. Thru shear serendipity I found one... The One
Oh well... ... we will find out soon
Wouldn't it be nice if the ad is real!
Wishful thinking perhaps for the folks jonse-ing for the mighty VI...

I also vote mislabeled Baritone Jag. It's got "JAG" in the identifier, whatever that is, and the price matches up.

Re: Bass VI - "A too good to be real" deal?
Looks like confused product copy to me. They have the product name "Fender LTD Release Bass VI NOS 3-T Sunburst" but the product ID as "BGFNOP-6SJAGSB". The pricing is the Jaguar Baritone, which has been called more than one thing, including Jaguar Bass VI which only adds to the confusion. Further in the product description near the end they exactly describe the Jaguar Baritone custom.SPudnik wrote:

Looks like a goof to me, though if someone can get a LTD release for this that would be great.

I'm not so sure about that. He says two single coils at one point and seems to be referencing the Baritone Jag, but then goes on to talk about a middle pickup. Then later he says three Jaguar pickups.Further in the product description near the end they exactly describe the Jaguar Baritone custom.
Overall, the test reads more like the VI then the Jag Baritone, though both are referenced.
Strange...

Re: Bass VI - "A too good to be real" deal?
Yeah, if they screwed up the descriptions is might be worth spending the $699 and see what you get. If you get the Jag Bari you're paying street price. If you get the CS, you score big time. If they are mislabeled/misinformed, I'm sure the guys in the warehouse don't have a clue.fullerplast wrote:I'm not so sure about that. They describe a black case with limited embroidery... AFAIK, the CIJ doesn't have a case.
Something is very weird here. If I had the scratch presently, I would gamble on finding out. It would be a great experiment...

Re: Bass VI - "A too good to be real" deal?
Whoa. Out of curiosity I just added this item to their shopping cart and some wierd stuff happened. First, there are 2 line items, one each for the instrument (double order). Next, even weirder, there is already buyer info with a billing and shipping address, and it is not me.
Does anyone know anything about this website? Are these guys legit, or is this a scam? If it is not a scam, their order website and security looks seriously hosed.

Wow... that cart is not even an https secure site. I didn't even add it, just hit "view" and the info was there. Looks like a fake site and poor Jared probably already got hosed.

Re: Bass VI - "A too good to be real" deal?
OK, I just went to the home page. I had to erase the rest of the link after .com and then I was able to get a blank cart.
I searched in Fender Bass and the item is indeed listed. I was able to add it to my cart with my own information. When I went to "check out" it brought me to a secure page. So the mystery appears legit and it remains.
I think when you stick it in the cart, it assigns a number (even before checkout). The original link had that number in it.
I'd still call to verify the store before I placed an order (if I was inclined to) though. That was too weird!

There's enough weirdness here to scare the (*&@$# out of me. If anyone one is going to purchase they are probably best off calling and using a credit card to purchase. I know I wouldn't put my personal info and CC on their website. Interesting, there is text on the site that says "100% safe".fullerplast wrote: OK, I just went to the home page. I suppose we just learned a few things about SPudnik. Careful with session tokens in URLs when you link pages on shopping sites SPudnik!

What I meant was, a cart with the open fields to put in my information. I would be too scared to actually use it after that.I was able to add it to my cart with my own information.
Yes, calling and making sure it is really a place would be advisable...
