Wow, a hell of a lot of synth for the money. Looks like a toy, sounds like magic.

Fuck you.
By which I mean congratulations. Those are about 400€ here, hence the jealousy.

Aw man! I'd take one of those for 100 bucks! Should be a lot of fun!
Post a good long review of it after the honeymoon phase is over, because i've been really interested in picking one of these up so I can dick around with some basic synthesis.

I played it for 3 hours today... and if u can find one on the cheap its an awesome piece to have even if you never played synth (like me)...
I have very little piano experience, so I know a few chords and the notes im playing, but even if you dont theres SO much stuff in this little thing you can just come up with things on the fly.
The Microkorg has nothing one this...
and I actually need to download the new patch for it according to Alesis's website... but I dont have a MIDI cable.
When I buy a Malekko, i plan on buying a good expression pedal for it aswell.

I feel much the same way. My Micron was £175 second hand, which is about $250, I guess. Goddamn you!

I would because I like the full-size keys.

Over the old Microkorg, yes, but not over the newer XL.

The Ion (grown up Micron) trumps the lot for me. It's the Micron but no reverb and much more fun to program.
The XL is capable of great sounds but retains a lot of the interface and build of the Microkorg. Of which I was never a fan, it was fun for about 10 minutes but then you feel like you've got about 90% of everything you're ever going to get out of it, it looks like a toy, feels like a toy, and the vocoder is massively overrated.
