I now have a Jaguar HH

Post by 1946dodge » Fri Mar 09, 2007 9:06 am

I sped home during lunch today to receive my new "present", a Jag HH.
I opened the box wth unbearable anticipation.
I was delighted.
I spent about 20 minutes getting the damn plastic protective stuff off the pickguard and pickups. It clung to my clothes but I didnt care.
I plugged it in and I am in HEAVEN.

I have to go back to work now, but I can't wait until tonight when I will come home, eat supper and then play this thing for hours and hours.

There are few pleasures in life, especially when you reach 60. So when I can, I indulge myself.

It is so wonderful to get a new guitar - it is like being a little kid all over again and it's Christmas.

Thanks everyone for the nice words. It is a standard Black and chrome Jag HH, but I will post pics next week when I get my computer back.
I'll put a pic of all my offsets.

It really sounds great. The "dragster" humbuckers are very smooth and are not too hot so it retains the Jag sound only a little less sharp and more full.
I will leave it as is, since I have a regular Jag, a 66.

It really hits the spot to get a new guitar and be playing it and gettting to know it.

When you figure how much you spend on guitars, which last forever, and average it over the years you have them, it works out to be about a cup of coffee a day.

And you can't keep the coffee.

I gotta say that this guitar is a jaguar with massive sustain. It is a joy to play and it is extremely well made.'When I got it, after it warmed up in my house for a couple of hours (it was cold due to being shipped) I turned the truss rod up a little to bring the nect up a little and it has been playing very well since. The CIJ guitars are very well made I must say.
Pics next week.

I thought I'd used every rationalization to buy guitars before, but this one is new.  And creative.  I like it.  If I amortize all my instrument purchases over the years, I've really not spent all that much.  Now, if I just cut out a Starbucks a day...

P.S. Cool instrument -- I've been drooling over the baritone model.s

DB the baritones are wonderful. I have the sunburst baritone custom (set up like a regular jag)  and my son has the baritone hh which is black and chrome and has the "dragster humbuckers" like the Jag HH.

The baritone hh is a sexy dark and beautifully done instrument and you deserve one.

You realise that Fender has a habit of discontinuing instruments. This is also why I bought the Jag HH - because I felt it was really special and could be a limited run, so if I hesitated I may never get one.

Never regret buying a nice guitar - they never lose value and they will offer you enjoyment for the rest of your life.

Take care
Ed

Yeah, I love baritones as well.  I have a Jag Baritone Custom refinished in surf green with a mint guard, and a Bass VI RI and a VI CS 2006.  The HH Baritone looks really interesting.
