Vox Jaguar Fuse Question

Post by cauger » Tue Jul 14, 2009 6:29 pm

I've had an old Vox Jaguar for about a year. So far it has worked well but today it stopped working. The organ turns on but the output is very weak. I looked in the back and I noticed that the place where the fuse goes is gone. Honestly, I don't remember if it was ever there. Could this be the problem? If so, where would I find a replacement?

Nice! If the fuse is the mains fuse, I'd expect it not to work at all, as there should be no voltage on the thing. Maybe this is helpful?

haha I saw this and I was like hey what a coincidence, this is so relevant to my interests! yeaaahhh that's because I own this organ now ::)

we'll see what the keyboard tech at main drag says - he seemed to think the lack of fuse was bad news... I would think the worst it could do would be to fry the power section, which seemed pretty simple to me, i mean how much could just replacing the whole power section cost, it's a tiny little tranny and two caps... right?

Good news, I heard back from Jun at main drag today, he says it needs a couple trim pots and caps and some important wire was disconnected - it'll be like $100 to get it back up and running which is no problem, I told him to do whatever he thinks would be good for it and let me know if it's going to run over $200. Wicked.

Hey Bryan, that's definitely good news.

I found out that one of my friends from college is playing with you guys at the show on Monday so I'm going to try and make it down. See you then!
