'Drifter' guitar project

Post by acdc518 » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:12 pm

So a few months back i bought this les paul copy of ebay for about $50. Image

It played alright but after a few drinks i decided that it would be fun to modify it like the drifter guitar sonic youth use on the song 'erics trip'.

so i now have this.

the bridge pu is taped in because the pu ring had it too high on the body and the low strings were fretting out. so i took off the ring. filled the pu cavity with cardboard until the pu was at the desired hight then duct taped it in.
It now has a bolt for a nut like the origional drifter does and i also removed the 2 unused tuners (actually one fell off so i took the other one off.)

Nice! Pretty accurate copy.
Now go play Eric's Trip, I love her all the time and everything else he uses the drifter for.
Det er mig der holder traeerne sammen.
