Email them and ask. They'll give you the exact total, usually within a day.

Hi
I bought a 3tone sunburst with blocks a WEEK AGO from Ishibashi
just email and ask for a JM66B (thats how the fender japan folks code them)
it cost: - guitar = 84,000 - delivery, insurance, handling etc. = 16,000 (ireland)
I was charged 25% of the cost of the guitar only (excluding delivery) at customs to Ireland,
ships with 9's!! so prepare for a bit of truss rodding if you up the guages
I also bought a mustang bridge while I was at it for 4,000

You think they'd sell a Jag blocks and binding neck on its own?

Re: Ishibashi confusing right now...
i don´t think so, your best bet would be an ebay seller called "the Stratrosphere" that regularly parts out new CIJs, and AVRIs too for that matter.weijie wrote: You think they'd sell a Jag blocks and binding neck on its own?

That "Stratosphere" guy only sells the CIJ stuff you can buy here. They can't get the blocks/bound necked versions, apparently.

I'm confused. It seems like a lot of people are buying from japan with no problem, but if you look at any CIJ Fender on the Ishibashi site you will notice a small banner stating that "Sales of the fender Japan commodity I will limit it only to Japan.", which worries me since i'll probably have enough money to get myself a Jazzie in a few months.

Sexy. But shouldn't the local dealers get suspicius of some foreigner who's regularly buying large numbers of guitars?

Re: Ishibashi confusing right now...
hi
just send an email to ishibashi
they didnt question my purchase for a second
i was surprised myself, cos i say the "only to japan" message myself
perhaps its a US thing? I stated straight away that i was in Ireland
and got it within 6 days, my local guitar shop couldnt get me a guitar in six weeks!
and i saved 500 euro, full waranty, trusted sellers etc etc,

That's a relief. I never shop for gear locally(Sweden) what with our obscene 25% sales taxe. Too bad for our American friends though.fourmations wrote: hi

Hey, dont feel too bad for us for we can get the AVRI's for under 1,000 on ebay. (not to mention all the vintage Fender amps on the cheap
)
When I was looking for a Jag I came across that Japan_music_finder website but they didnt have any so I emailed them and they immediately put up the block inlay Jag and another. Very cool, I told them what color and they offered it. I ended up not buying though because I found an AVRI for $850 instead on ebay.(the mij would have been almost 1,000 after all said and done) I was hesitant to use Ishibashi because of the money wire and the vague "we dont know what customs will charge on your end".

That's true, you could get a used AVRI for about the same amount of money i would pay for a new CIJ... And if i remember correctly the US doesn't have any import fees.
