Re: yay! my amp is ready!
i've played the amp a bit now, and i gotta say it's not what i hoped for. it sounds good, but there's hardly any gain, even with the channels jumpered and the volumes maxed, and it's still very noisy. i'm going to have to take it back to the tech and have him tweak it...

That blows... maybe something is wrong with the curcuit? Did he ask what tones you wanted out of the amp?

it went wihtout saying that i wanted hiwatt tones... since i asked for a hiwatt preamp.Taylorplayer wrote: That blows... maybe something is wrong with the curcuit? Did he ask what tones you wanted out of the amp?
i've played with it some more now, and all issues aside, it sounds fantastic when pushed into overdrive by my turbo rat or my microamp. exactly the sound i was after. really sparkly and dynamic. you know the way most amps kinda fart and lose focus when you feed them too much distortion from a pedal..? there's none of that. it just gets louder and more aggressive. i love it.
anyway, i'm taking the amp back to the tech, and hopefully he can get rid of the noise and add the right amount of gain.
