Evil Twin!
I was complaining the twin was too loud and had too many tubes so i got an even louder amp with more tubes ::) but,ah well,i hate new gear and the reissue was new and sucked for that alone, i got this and some change from selling the twin as well so it worked out nicely. The twin was fine,but this has more options..its more usable with the push/pull pots and channel switching.You can actually have the reverb on channel 1,2 or both which i thinks cool.

It has four 6L6's,five 12AX7's and two 12AT7's,all tube circuit including the reverb.2X12 100watts or you can switch to 25watts without removing any tubes.

Gotta love those red knobs eh? I had a ss M80 with these on it when i was about 16,not sure of the year but its between 87 and 94 i think.

I scored it in Carlton,these are just store photos cause i haven't picked it up yet.

It starts of with a cacophony of "we hate these" comments but on the second page there are some more constructive comments. You could also search that forum (keep to the Fender forum - there have been plenty of posts there with "red knob" or "The Twin" as keywords).

I'm looking now and these guys are pathetic,they're like the idiots that do BOSS demos.

If its not a marshall,strat and yada yada yada it sucks.
Fuck,when will they realize they're not EVH or satriani and just enjoy music rather than bitching about everything M@J@ and T@NE that sucks!

I did some searching and I didn't find as much as I thought I would on that amp. There was one guy who actually got his hands in there - he might be worth contacting directly for advice / sounding off on mods etc.

Usually that forum is much more hands-on and techy to a fault. Maybe researching "The Twin" is just a bad introduction to it. There's lots of info on building preamps etc. for various models and lots of very sober advice on tubes, repairs etc.

I have a few sites that offer info about it,got the schem etc.

I haven't even played the thing,I've played a twin but not my particular twin.I know its cool,does what i want so the fact that its hated makes me enjoy it even more But its fine how it is,i only use a clean channel with my effects and i fucking hate overdrive so it will be fine.I LOVE the fact that its hated because no ones gonna sound like me cause they hate a perfectly good amp for god knows what reasons.

The music scene/industry,whatever  has so much crap floating around about whats good/bad its unbelievable.

Sorry for goin on about it,just these dickheads really piss me off,same as the effects myths and cheap guitars myth,its all shit and RARELY if ever holds true!

Aesthetically I think they were going down into a deep dark pit when they designed the red knob versions, that's to be sure.

Sorry for being pedantic but I spotted this in another forum and figured that we should seek to be correct on these things.

Well,turns out i cant get this amp shipped/insured so i wont be buying it after all. :'(

But on the bright side i got my twin reverb back cause my cousin (the guy i sold it to) don't like it as much as thought.Now he wants a Marshall half stack ::)
jvm??? or something.He's as indecisive as i am about this shit.

Ts ok,neither of us ended up loosing so i spose theres no problem, although i still have a brand spankin new twin that i don't like the look of.I do appreciate its sounds though :?

Ya wana deleate this post now mez or someone ,its useless! :D

Probably a JCM 800 or JCM 900 is what he's referring to.
