My 1986 MIJ telecaster custom:
I traded a CIJ Jaguar for this one. I haven't regretted it once, it's a great guitar, and it killed all my telecaster gas. It's a bit beaten up, but sounds really nice, and it has one of my favourite necks.

I wish to propose a doctrine which may, I fear, appear wildly paradoxical and subversive. The doctrine in question is this: that it is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatever for supposing it true. - Bertrand Russell

That's the ultimate '70s Tele IMHO. I love how the Tele's upper bout crept up in the '70s. Is it heavy?fullerplast wrote:My '75 Tele:

Here is mine:
There's that old quote about perfection being achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. That sums up the Telecaster to me. It's amazing what Leo did with this guitar on so many levels. Although I love the later iterations too, and even with the guitar above, I recently changed out the vintage wiring and added a tone control and four-way switch with bridge/parallel/neck/series.
I've never been a huge fan of Country music, but I love what guys like Danny Gatton and James Burton and Vince Gill do with their Teles. I wish I could make my guitar sing like that and do a better steel guitar impersonation.

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
I've had three in total. My first and my current are two different Black and maple MIM standards, stock.
My second was this little number.
I enjoy teles, but I always end up selling them in pursuit of something better. Right now I'm looking for a Telesonic in sunburst. One of the only guitars that I prefer the look of sunburst. I usually hate it.

i had only seen the 'offset-only" version of this pool pic.
This version spins my head!

Black on black is the only colour for Tele Customs in my opinion. There's absolutely no show pony about it. It's all work horse.Kilgore Trout wrote:My 1986 MIJ telecaster custom:
