There is a new article in the latest SPIN Magazine about J, and right next to him is the Signature jazzmaster. I know for sure because there is a brief description of it right next to it.
Looks really cool! Signed headstock, matching headstock, awesome sparkle finish.

If it's CIJ then it will probably be a regular guitar just a different color. I know if my favorite jazzmaster was stolen another that I love as mutch would be a tall order.

I think the frets are different from stock Jazzmaster frets (Bigger), and it has a Tune-o-matic bridge. Quick update - I saw on MTV Canada that they are giving away one of the J Mascis models in their studio in Toronto today as a promo for the Toronto show tonight. Of course no specific details on the actual guitar - they just called it the J Mascis Fender guitar.
