"Cow Pleaser" is a bit unfair, I liked that Porche green, (regret calling it green, green now), very 60's. Having said that the pearl green one is way more unique & "flakey", the previous may have been a bit hard to live with I guess. :)

Hehe... cow-pleaser. Haven't heard that one before. I like it both ways, but I love heavily saturated base colours so the uber-greeness didn't bother me. :)

...

Well I spent the last four months with this looking like this, with neither the money nor the time to get it finished:

Image

But now, as I'm sure everyone's sick of hearing, I've made a new guard and had it anodised, and I've ordered new pots, caps, and rollers, due any day now.

While it was still together I couldn't resist a little mock-up:

It crossed my mind that I should maybe go for a white rhythm switch and white rollers...

But before all of that, I needed to shave the neck down a little more, so off it came. I screwed a couple of threaded inserts into my bench, which means I can just bolt necks down on there to work on them - no more messing about with clamps:

Image

Then, since I was going to have to re-spray the neck anyway, I decided to get rid of the green on the headstock and replace it with black:

I much preferred the look of the black headstock on the first MOTORIK, and I'm still not 100% sold on the green body, so if I ever re-finish it (white) I won't need to touch the neck.

An old Japanese one - from the Matsumoko factory, you can find them on loads of 60s/70s models.

White rollers turned out perfect - two coats primer, two coats white lacquer :)

I really need a set of those white rollers! may just follow suit with what you did...

It's a killer, Ben!

It will look awesome with the white rollers and slide switch.

:)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

You mean like this?

It's not wired up or properly shielded yet, and I still need to sort out the decal and a little more clear on the headstock, but it's nearly there. I'm really pleased with how those rollers turned out.
