Both fine choices.
It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

I'll have to check these out, they do look like what I'm after. Don't seem to be many that pop up for resale though.luau wrote: Possibly not what you are after, but they did make these. It does have your line out though and an effects loop to boot.

You may be right. Looks like about 1/4 or 1/3 the price of a DSR. We'll have to see how the Ebay gods cooperate!StevenO wrote: Sounds like you want an Ampeg V4. The Ampeg V4 and the V4b are the same head. The V4 has reverb and the V4b doesn't. Get the one with the reverb,![]()

Dick Dale played 6 of them when I saw him, there was nothing about that show that wasn't impressive.Pumpkin wrote: I just cant imagine how much better 2X15" jbl's 100watt each would sound,it would be fucking sick!![]()

Re: Fender Twin Reverb - HEAD???
A closed back 2x15 Fender cab followed me home not long after I got my TRII in the mid 80s. It sounded unreal. And the reverb... sweet mercy. I highly recommend it. I blew the piss out of both speakers at a high school talent show. Yes, I got in trouble for rattling windows in most of the school and for playing 'acid rock'. As I had no money for speakers, I ended up trading the cab for a delay and some cash.Pumpkin wrote:Man i would love a 2x15 box to run my twin thru just as a head.
Bigger in sum than parts.

i've got a twin reverb i've been planning on turning into a head - mojotone has the cabinet to fit it, just email them and ask them which you need to use and they can tell you what it is and how much $$$ - from what i remember it's gonna be about $250 for the new head cabinet, and i got my TRRI for $800, so not too terrible.

They're up to $350 now. A decent option though.haledixon wrote: ... mojotone has the cabinet to fit it... it's gonna be about $250...

Re: Fender Twin Reverb - HEAD???
yeah, i'd noticed their prices have gone up considerably - seems like that for most cabinet makers. it's a little ridiculous considering i've priced all the materials at < $60 and building the basic cabinet really isn't that hard. if you're not that great at it you can get by without the fingerjoints or dovetails and just use good screws and wood glue. sand the edges round, look up a couple good tolex tutorials online to do the tricky parts and in the end save some money.
