I'm gonna hold out for a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster at NAMM. Would make me so happy.

I've heard good things about the Squier Vintage Modified Thinline Teles retaining that Tele spank on a 24.75" scale. It may work on a 24" scale too.
Thanks."
I ordered the Fiesta Jaguar today. It will be esquired.
I have a Squier Vintage Modified Thinline Tele that I esquired. Love the conversion neck.
And I made a telemaster out of an Xavier with the neck from the Squier Vintage Modified Thinline Tele. So a 24.75" telemaster, for about $400.

Re: here comes the Squier offsets.....
So just idly browsing through DV247.com, it turns out the new Squier Jag and Jazzy are coming in significantly cheaper than the Squier Jagmaster.

This certainly makes the idea of tremming one up a lot more tempting...

The more I look at these, the more they're starting to grow on me...particularly the butterscotch color of the Jazzmaster. That being said, I really can't get past the bridge.

Re: here comes the Squier offsets.....
I'm in two minds out these Squiers.
On one hand, on offset that'll actually be affordable in Australia!!!! That would nice, even something to start modding from.
On the other, a strat jack -.- and a ugly bridge -.-
I will probably buy one of those jazzmasters though.

Re: here comes the Squier offsets.....
These are listing at $325 Canadian at Long & McQuade (they're not available for order yet at the store level, though, and the Jaguar isn't even online at all).
I would assume this means they'll actually come in at the lower end of VM pricing in the US-- ie., $299.
I dunno. I definitely have the same reservations as many of you (bridge & jack, mostly, although I never use my rhythm circuit and I LOVE the idea of stacked knobs-- very useful), but I do like the finishes and will likely end up with one. I certainly dig these more than the Blacktops.

Re: here comes the Squier offsets.....
Whatever aspects of these guitars people dislike I really can't see how anyone could complain for £255!!?!!
Bargain of a lifetime for a brand new guitar, these look perfect for modifying or just using as they are.
I want one of each
Also, if the quality is equal to the recent range of Squiers then I think they're something to be valued.
I'm just pleased Fender have done it, if only they'd do a Mustang...

the jack totally kills them for me. i really dig the colour combinations from the jazzmasters but apart from that they look buttugly to me.

Problem is you'd be better off getting one of the guitar fetish guitars as you have more choice in colour, more correct looks and a proper Trem.gauntstory wrote:Whatever aspects of these guitars people dislike I really can't see how anyone could complain for £255!!?!!

Re: here comes the Squier offsets.....
honestly these are totally worth buying if you want to do some modding and upgrades. The strat jack input can be changed and though it won't always look great it's wonderful for a beater guitar that you can just throw around also, i'm waiting to try one out in my hands and see how much I REALLY hate the strat jack. The bridge however needs to go, maybe a bigsby or just rout it for a JM trem.

still dont get the jack hate, its such a minor thing and think it quite suites the angles of the guitar

Anyone know if the neck pocket on the Jazz is the same size as a MIJ Jazzmaster? e.g could you just swap necks?

I agree completely. The bridge is far more offensive to my eyes than the jack plate.thingsthatfly wrote:still dont get the jack hate, its such a minor thing and think it quite suites the angles of the guitar

That's what I'm hoping. I'll buy one just for the neck, if it fits. I would love a spare maple neck for my Mascis. I would change the decal though..
