Fuuuuuuuck, that burst on the Jag looks so good....I'm probably gonna unload some gear, buy one, convert to proper Jag, and hopefully it will cure my inexhaustible Jag GAS.

BTW....these looked really nice in person at the NAMM show.
I'm still not sold on the funky bridge, but the finishes on the body and necks looked great.

Did you notice where these are made? Indonesia, China, India? If they're made in India, I won't be rushing to buy one.

They look pretty and all but they're, you know, Squiers. Flip that.

This is a cool guitar. the bridge criticisms are a bit too harsh, I think: the danelectro and fender bullet bridges that are analogous to these are really quite good and garage-rock cool. They might not be able to intonate perfectly, but that didn't stop lots of great bands (including Led Zeppelin and Television) from using these guitars. With their maple fretboards, these are totally cool guitars. Totally. And if they match recent Squier quality, they are a huge score in the bang-for-the-buck category.

Along with the new Epiphone Wilshires (especially the ones with the Tremotone vibratos) and vintage-style SGs and LPs and the entire Squier Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified series, these add up to a fantastic collection of cool guitars that will allow folks (and especially kids) to embrace the styles of shoegaze/skronk/lo-fi/ambient in both tone and look. I'm all for this. Some 15 year old is going to get one of these not-so-popular funky-hardtail jazzmasters as a birthday/holiday present and change the world.

Already ordered the Butterscotch Jazzer to join my 4 vintage (64', 65', 66', 70') Jazzers and 2 Xavier JT 40 P90 Jazzers. Can't wait and think it looks amazing, weirdo bridge n' all!! Might even consider a Bigsby if sounds/plays as good as it looks. BTY, any guitar is greatly improved with a total pro set up including fret end voodoo. Best $50-60 you will ever spend. Seriously. Gonna call the Squier my Nevercaster...... Kudos to Fender for thinking outside the box. If you don't like it, stick to the various traditional options easily available in all price levels..... Xavier is great for $200ish, Blacktop $400, MIM Classic Player $800, MIJ $1000, TS $1600, USA $1800, etc. Let freedom ring n' chime the Jazzer way!!!! :-)

Ordered my Blonde JM Saturday from Sweetwater. They called yesterday to let me know I should have it in 3 weeks. Pics and a review when it gets here ;)

Probably going to grab the Jazzmaster. I had a Classic Player a couple months ago, but it made me realize that I didn't really care about having the tremolo. This seems like a nice solution. Wish it had a rosewood fretboard though.

Jag pickups are very similar to Strat pickups. IMO they'd be a far better choice than the muddy shit humbuckers Fender uses in all the Jags.

+1.
I'm not a big fan of the squier logo with the woblly things and the fixed bridge. But I totally wish these were around in '95 when I bought my first guitar, a crappy Aria strat copy.
