Anyone ever play any Dano guitars?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

What a nice, simplistic design they have. The longhorns are a bit too much for me, though.

I thought that too, but they definitely grow on you. Clever design too - because of the bridge position, the guitar's the same length as a tele, despite it having a 5" longer neck. Which is nice for me, as I only have the one gigbag that came with my Edwards Jr.

Hmm that's interesting. I kind of fancied one of them a while ago, but I was afraid my
bandmates would laugh at me. Also, I think I'd just hurt myself with one of these.

Your mighty twang and low-end magnificence will deter any piss taking. And if the longhorn shape was good enough for Jon Entwistle and Mke Watt...

..not too far out of the realm of possibility - her talks about the time he met Richard Hell and played his first bass(Dano) here:

I wonder how often Watt has used the expression "doing the spiel", ha ha

I have one of these Dan-O-Blasters w/ built-in distortion.
it's a nice guitar, like the neck profile.
the tuners are quite cheesy-looking but the guitar stays in tune.
maybe these tuners may wear out faster, but only time will tell ...

Greetings - the Fenderizer
they're coming to take me away, hahaaa ...

You wouldn't regret it!  It really is a wonderful instrument for the price!

I want an actual dano bass so that I can have something tuned E-E. There was a mustard yellow Jerry Jones Baritone at a music store for around $800 and it was from 1997 and I WANTED IT, badly...

Are you talking about a 4 string or one of the 6 string basses?  The VIs were reissued at one point, I've seen 1 or 2 on eBay.  Jerry Jones makes them too.

6 strings tuned E-E.

I wanted one years ago when they were reissued but never got around to buying one. Jerry Jones are too much moneyz for me at the moment.

I have a U1, single pickup model. I get a swampy blues tone out of it , but alas it's just a one trick pony.
