Looks great, but I don't know about the colors. I usually prefer a firebird-like burgundy and gold scheme. Do you have any idea where to get those pickups? I love the idea but besides vintage I haven't seen any.
Are you actually going to make this or is it a fantasy?

Re: Fender Jazzmarauder Ver. 1
I believe Curtis Novak will have the pickups available soon. I've been toying with the idea of a building a Marauder Ver. 2, but haven't been able to get an accurate enough tracing. So, I thought I'd see what the control plates would look like on a Jazzmaster, along with the XII pups. I may actually build this, as a forerunner to the Marauder replica. The wiring is going to be a nightmare.
Re: Fender Jazzmarauder Ver. 1
How about a Jazzmarauder with the Gibson Marauder instead of the Fender?

Courtesy of Steve Soest:
The pickup switching capabilities: Individual on-off pickup switches (like the Jaguar and Bass VI) allows every combination of the three pickups, plus TWO separate out-of-phase capabilities (at this point in Fender’s history, actual pickup phasing was featured only on the Mustang guitar.
The familiar pre-set rhythm circuit which had been developed in the late 1950s for the Jazzmaster, and was also utilized on the Jaguar when it was introduced in 1962. Often misunderstood and maligned, this design allows the player, with the flip of one switch, to select the neck position pickup only (independent of the lower volume and tone controls) and allows its volume and tone to be pre-set or adjusted at will. The circuit completely bypasses the other pickups, switches, and controls, sending the signal from the neck pickup through its own controls and directly to the output jack.
Electronics: The switches are a heavy duty rocker-type not found on any previous Fender model, as opposed to the smaller slide type switches used predominately. The lower control plate has one of these switches designated as a “standby” switch, a feature which shuts off the guitar (without hum!) and never before seen on a Fender model. Even the jack nut is a smooth, round chrome plated appointment, as apposed to the standard nickel plated hex nut. The roller knobs on the upper pre-set rhythm circuit are larger in diameter, allowing more of the knob to protrude above the control plate for easier access. These also feature easy- to- read white numbers (which its predecessors did not have!) so the player can easily determine the number settings.

Jazzmaster, guitar. An instrument barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic guitar. Jazzmarauder will be that guitar. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

I love the colour. I can imagine the Cantina Band using one in Star Wars

Re: Fender Jazzmarauder Ver. 1
I confess seeing the Jazzmarauder reminded me of this idea I had for a while. And seeing that Novak is working on the XII pu’s it is possible.
It’s actually not much of a JM, since my choice of woods would be mahagony/maple for the body, maple/ebony for the neck, with a set-neck.
I have no plans of really building it in the nearer future - for various reasons…
The pu selector should be a 5 way strat (argh!) type for b, n, n+b, b+m, m.

Re: Fender Jazzmarauder Ver. 1
what did the marauder actually sound like?
Is there a difference in the two generations?
I think i've seen 3 different ones.
I wonder how many are left of the original 8.
