Hey guys....I been mulling over this for a LONG time....I got a Vibra King adn its awsome....I love it.....A guy called Dave Ulbrik here in Melbourne has modified it a bunch and its just superb....Thing is....I have a simliar sound to (Big call I know!) John Frusciante....very clean to very distorted on solos.....I use a TS-9 and a Boss DS2 inline !!! it sounds killer.....but I have blown a speaker adn I dont think I should replace it with what came standard in it???(i dont know wat that is?) B/c I think my distorted sound blew the crap outta it! not volume.
Has any one got one of these (the 3X10 combo) and is using it for similar sounds as I am???
Any suggestions on what I should do with a limited budget...I really dont want to have to replace all 3 speakers... and I do think if I put the standard back in it will just blow again?....hhhmmmmm what to do?
I am very open to suggestions! I love this amp....and dont want to have to get rid of it due to my sound.
Thanks in advance guys!

Re: Vibra King Question....
Is that possible? I can imagine blowing up a speaker with excessive volume or sudden high power transients, but if the wave you're putting through it is of moderate power I wouldn't have thought the shape of the waveform mattered that much. Overdrive tends to cause compression and should smooth out sudden transients anyway .. no?LiveatSubs wrote: I think my distorted sound blew the crap outta it! not volume.
Anyway, I'm sure there's lots of decent speakers that would do the job .. maybe get some with fairly high wattage rating if you're worried about blowing them again. I can't remember right now what's in my BFVR but I'll try to have a look when I get home, they're pretty nice aftermarket speakers.
I'd love a Vibro-King BTW .. 3x10" with a built in outboard-type reverb .. excellent.
[edit]
The speakers are Jensen C10Qs apparently.

Re: Vibra King Question....
Thanks guys....I'll email Ted....and look into a new speaker for her.....I am not to sure about the blowing the speaker due to distortion either??....I just heard that those particular speakers were'nt built for a overly distorted sound.....and that could be why it blew?....The Amp is probably one of the loudest amps I have played, combo'd at least!! I love it....I just gotta sort this dam speaker out!
Thanks for your help guys!

Re: Vibra King Question....
If you buy speakers from Ted make sure you test em right away
I bought 6 10inch ones and let them sit for about 6 months waiting to do a project. 4 of them were bad.
From what i gather his tolerances are so tight that UPS damages them more often than some other speaker makes.
He packs em pretty good tho
