I didn't take the time to post these earlier. I couldn't find a definitive list of the model codes but there is discussion of this particular code here and here.
Bigger in sum than parts.

My 1978 marshall 4x12 cab looks just like this same and the speakers are 30w celestion G12H's which imho are the best speakers they ever put in a 4x12.

Re: I have a Marshall 4x12!
If them speakers are 80watts like luau suggests thats a whole 320watts of sound you are capable of man! which means your speakers wont be pushed and will hold out at extreme volumes if you had a 100watt head runin it for example.
Exactly what i was after years ago.....100 into 320.
Seems like a good cab for almost any head!
The twin reverb has 85watts into 200watts of speakers (2x100watt) ,this contributes to its clean sound at such high volumes as well.
Y'all gonna have a good amp there man!

Daniel Ash (Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, Love & Rockets) is a long-time user - since the 70s up to the present. Can't remember which model - was it the IC 100S head? Anyhow he puts two of them atop a Marshall 4x12 cab (the Roland amp next to the HH rig is used for acoustics).

Sorry to bring back an old post but I'm wondering: Will you still be able to use your super duper with a Solid State amp ??zhivago wrote:H/H amps are british-made solid state amps from the 70s...mjet started a thread on them too a while back...I bought this to try through the 4x12k o y l wrote:sorry but what is a HH ??zhivago wrote:
amp-wise, I've gone for a different route...some might think I've lost it, but I'm giving HH amps a try...I bought a cheap solid state PA head and wanna see how it'll work out...I use all sorts of eq pedals, so I should be able to make it do exactly what I want.
Does it mean solid state ?

Re: I have a Marshall 4x12!
probably not as much as I'd like...the dirt channel on it's own through a transistor amp at low levels sounds crap...pushing a transistor amp also (usually) sounds crap...cranking the amp itself with the Duper's both channels though sounds pretty good...I've used transistor PA amps before at rehearsal studios and was amazed at how good everything sounded...especialy I'm a tube snob 99.9% of the time!k o y l wrote:Sorry to bring back an old post but I'm wondering: Will you still be able to use your super duper with a Solid State amp ??zhivago wrote:H/H amps are british-made solid state amps from the 70s...mjet started a thread on them too a while back...I bought this to try through the 4x12k o y l wrote: sorry but what is a HH ??

the sound is not the same as pushing a tube amp, it's different...still good..an actually more appropriate for what I'm doing in this band
I've actually been using less drive and more volume to make feedback lately....we'll see...if worse comes to worse, I'll use a Rat

RE: H/H -doesn't Jason Spaceman (Spiritualized) use an H/H combo? As I recall it has a bunch of cool blue lights that illuminate the control plate...

Yes - he's another HH user. I think I saw an HH combo amp from one of the guys from The Wedding Present for sale a while back on eBay that was apparently a frequently-used amp as well.OffYourFace wrote: RE: H/H -doesn't Jason Spaceman (Spiritualized) use an H/H combo?
