Jaguar Headstock Questions
I'm going to start a Jag project soon, I've ordered the body. But I was wondering if the headstock is that larger shape that's in between the Strat and CBS style headstocks. I have to get one of these so I will have a Jag, a JM, and a Bass VI. I'm in love with offsets.

Depending upon where you order your neck from, you may have to do some sanding to get the correct shape:
this is very useful (size up tyhe PDF until correct size and print it off to make a stencil):

Thanks. I have a correct JM headstock tracing from the JM neck on my sherwood. Musikraft is the only one who makes it, but they don't do the JAG scale, at least it's not on their website. I've written them to ask, but no response yet.

You might look into getting a paddle-head 24" neck and shaping it yourself if nothing else turns up...

What I'll probably end up doing is getting a large CBS headstock from USA CG and cutting it back. It would be great if Musikraft did the 24 inch scale, since they also do the JM headstock. Oh well...no problems.

I just took the tracing of my correct JM heastock and overlaid it onto a Bass VI headstock from USACG. That will work nicely, I'll just have to cut away a lot more than I usually do to get it right.

ROS, just used the PDF which I listed above as the template and did tyhe sanding all by hand. Used various grades of sandpaper 100 up to 1600 grit, then small rolls of paper were used to get the various radii correct. I felt it was a lot easier to "feel" my way around the headstock rather than try with hand files or even electrical sandersRumorsOFsurF wrote: Damn, Sook, that looks really good!
