CIJ Jags

Post by JazzBrew » Sat Jul 28, 2007 11:30 am

I'm thinking about a lefty CIJ Jaguar in CAR w/matching headstock. Saw it on ebay. I used to own a CIJ Jazzmaster, but wasn't all that impressed. Sold it, so I haven't been on the forum in a few months.  Anyone care to weigh in on CIJ Jags? I know this has been discussed many times already, but I've been gone a while.

I saw that guitar on Ebay this morning.  I own a CIJ Jag in CAR, but it is a righty... I'm having a hard time getting used to it.  It's so much different from my AVRI Jazzmaster.  My Jag has Novak pickups, too.  I think I just need to keep playing it and give it a chance.

Does the difference in neck scale length between the Jazz & Jag bother you? I'm used to the scale length of my American Tele, which is 25.5"
The Jag is 24.75," am I right or wrong?

I can't feel the difference in the scale, but some can.  The Jag is actually 24" vs. 25.5" on a Tele/$trat/Jazzmaster etc.

Wow, 24" . . . I used to have a Gibson Les Paul, and I noticed the difference in scale length between it & my American Tele, and the Les Paul is 24.75", not 24". Hmmm . . . maybe the Jag ain't for me. But I'll keep an eye on it anyway.

If you switch back and fourth alot scale difference not a big deal. Like all japenese girls with a few upgrades they are great gig guitars.
