Didn't Fender give him a bunch of gear like they did for the Beatles? I think he got this at the same time as the Jazz Bass and Bandmaster you see him with in this picture:

reverb.

His XII wasn't a prototype but it was indeed a very early model, only a few '65s had white pickguards.

I dunno, but he was signed to Columbia when they owned Fender. Some sources say Bob didn't have his own electric around '65-'66 & just borrowed from his bandmates, which is odd, but so is Dylan.
And if I'm not in a band, don't mean I'm square...and if I am, well then I don't care..

Nice proto-cyclone!
Yeah, Bob was another one of fender's giftees. Has anyone able to pinpoint any tracks he used these guys on?

I'm pretty sure he stuck to his strat for the majority of the Bringing it all Back Home and Highway 61 sessions, but it's impossible to know for sure. Besides the first pic of him outside with the jazzmaster, I've seen another pic of him playing it on stage, but that's it. From what I've seen live, he used a sunburst strat, a blonde tele and a black tele during 66, both with maple fretboards.

Part of the reason I got my CP Jaggy right there. Also, in another bit of coolness me and Mr. Dylan share the same birthday which is neat.
