Anyone likes the Duesenberg Starplayer TV semi-hollows?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Im considering getting on of these:

The sound is somewhere between a Les Paul and a Gretsch. I played one first
in 2003 and been on GAS for one since then ;)

Anyone here played them too?

I love the looks of them. There's one in a guitar shop nearby, but never got round to trying it out.

And they have a Shiina Ringo signature model!

She only used that guitar for 1 tour shortly before her break.
(And started tokyo jihen after that break)
That sig model is a bad joke imho. If you want signature I'd go for an
old Starplayer 2 which she used to record her first album (partly).
Or the silver sparkle TV she uses more often (during and before tokyo jihen).

I like the black one. The other two look sort of tacky and cheap for such a classy looking guitar.

Very cool guitars. Are they made in Germany?
Do they have an Asian line?

My left-handed friend has one of those. Its a kind or reddy, burgundy.

Along with his 335's & his Gretsch Tennessee Rose he has one of the most enviable yet infuriating collections around.

You see em, you pick em up.......then realize you can't play em!!!!!!
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

They have those at the shop I used to work at, they are very well made.

Saw Dean Wareham play a Duesenberg on a Luna tour a few years back - sounded great as usual.

Damn, i cant decided between a 2nd AVRI JM or a Starplayer TV  :D
Getting a TV means more variation, sticking with a JM means going
more to "my" signature sound i have in mind since 3-4 years..
Decisions decisions ;)
I definately love both, only for playabilty the JM wins.

i read somewhere that the bodies are made in asia, then shipped to germany for final assembly and setting, so it's a semi-asian line! ;)

i tried a white starplayer tv few months ago (plugged in a fender supersonic amp) and... woah!
maybe the greatest guitar i've ever played 8)
That's some bad hat, Harry

I like the Duesenbergs a lot, but I've never played one. They've been getting great reviews everywhere, which is always a good sign.
