Sorry about that, I was planning to post a picture with the headstock more visible but could only find that one - it's an Onyx. The last time I tried to find something about them, I found that the name was being used by a company in England. It's difficult to find out anything about the company since the word onyx turns up black guitars, Onyx Forge guitars, etc. before it gives me anything about these. What little I did find seems to suggest they were a pretty big gamble. I know the tuners, bridge and tailpiece were changed, but I can't remember if the guy I bought it from said anything about the electronics and pickups.UlricvonCatalyst wrote:It'd be good if you shared the name on the headstock with us. Part of the point of this thread should be to tip those of us who habitually scour small ads and flea markets off about lesser-known names worth looking out for.Caleb wrote:This hollowbody....If I could only have one guitar, this would be it.

Re: Show your LAWSUIT guitars!!!
I had this, sold it last year.
1976 LEFT HANDED IBANEZ LAWSUIT LES PAUL CUSTOM W/ 70'S DIMARZIO'S AND GIBSON TUNING HEADS
the neck was the best part... straight as an arrow and so easy to play. ALOT lighter than a real LP too.

My one and only lawsuit guitar is a very old and cheap acoustic that I bashed against a drunk asshole's head in a park back in my high school days. It got me in a courtroom, so I guess it qualifies

We got people playing stringed instruments! It's the end of days.

It was bolt on. I just wanted to change it up I guess, I like to try out a lot of different guitars/amps.

Re: Show your LAWSUIT guitars!!!
I had an Antoria lefty Les Paul Custom in the late 90s just like that. Can't remember if it was bolt on though. It was pretty banged up, had a good neck. Was really heavy.
Sold it along with a couple of other guitars to buy a second hand Epi Les Paul Custom that wasn't that nice.

Re: Show your LAWSUIT guitars!!!
I feel deprived! The only 'lawsuit' guitar I have is a Tokai Strat that dates from the early eighties.
I briefly used to have a Shaftesbury Rickenbacker 'copy' which I moved on very quickly, but I have to say, those Greo-backers look great.

Nice! I saw a couple of these on eBay but couldn't justify bidding. The early 60s style double cut Melody Makers are super cool. What's this one sound like?fraser wrote:truly a lawsuit guitar?
