Is this the one? Only other photo I've seen of Marr with an LPB Jag was in a recent issue of Guitarist. Strange that it isn't on his website's 'Guitarchestra' page if its features contributed to the shaping of his sig model.

Yes, that's the guitar. He used it live for a bit when he joined the Cribs but then he seemed to stop using it. I ran into him around that time and he said that he liked the guitar too much to take it out on the road but I don't if he was just saying that. I also wonder why it didn't make the 'Guitarchestra' page. Kind of a bummer. Ha Ha. I know he has a lot more guitars than what he has up on his site but come on, how could you resist a LPB Jaguar? When I sold him mine he also had just acquired an early 60's Firemist Gold Jaguar that I never saw him mention again but I know he had it because I played it on his tour bus for sure. I think it was also a refin though but also a very convincing, old refin.

Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do was sell it but I really needed the money. I knew I would regret it from the get go and if there was any way around it I wouldn't have sold it. I'm sure many of you have been there before. I did strike a deal with Johnny that I could buy it back for the same price if I ever wanted it back. Not sure if he remembers that part though. Ha ha. He's such a good hearted guy and he could definitely feel my pain about selling it that regardless if he remembers the deal or not, I feel like he probably would sell it back to me if I really pushed for it but I still don't have the money. Ha ha. Or I should say that I don't have $2000 to spend on a guitar at least.

sorry for delayed response, been busy playing guitar

"how 's its relationship with fuzz/dirt?"

A very subjective question, but one objective bit of information I can share: at least certain distortion and fuzz pedals exhibit a noticeably different interaction with the signal from the pickups-in-series setting than with the signal from the ordinary three settings. For my purposes, this is generally an advantage, except perhaps to the extent it may promote a tendency towards excessive reliance on the loud-quiet-loud formula.

Shorter answer: series position + Big Muff = that's a jaguar?

I totally agree with this! I'm currently using my Marr Jag with a Black Arts Pharaoh and a Black Forest, and it sounds so huge in the 4th position :-*
The neck pickup and the 4th or serie position are my favorites so far with fuzz/OD/distortion.

Hello OSG!

has it already been posted? Fender has the Metallic KO on their website now! I've got one on order and have been checking daily\every other day for two months! for them to post the pic. It.looks.great. over here. The lighting is nice.

Can't wait for mine to get to Seattle. It'll be my 1st offset since I sold my old 64 jag back in '98 (I forgot the color)

can't hotlink the photo and the link seems too long - here's a tinyurl (preview as a courtesy)
here she is:

That link is great. I think I nailed that color pretty well on my ADH build. (I used Duplicolor Burnt Copper Metallic.)

Actually, I like your color better as its more red than the JM Jag which is more orange...

Thanks! It is a fun color. Depending on lighting it looks more orange. That was out in the sun. In real life mine is more red than orange. Not sure on Johnny's though because I have only seen photographs. :)

Not exactly related, so forgive me for that, but I am thinking my next build might use this color but be a Jazzmaster or Telemaster. It is a very cool color. Stands out well and is just... different I guess. :)
