Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
That has to be the worst written review of a guitar ever.
also:
I've tried, and I can't fit any more cliches into that paragraph.Marr rarely played a solo, at least in the rip-snortin’, fire-breathing, Jeff Beckian sense. What Marr contributed instead, is a virtual holy text on how to craft a hook and support a song. While there may not be a lot of fleet-fingered fireworks in his oeuvre, licks don’t come much more delicious and clever than the intro to “This Charming Man.” And the menacing, chugging, tremolo-pulsing, Bo Diddley-on-nitrous riff that anchors “How Soon in Now” is heavy enough to make Tony Iommi green with envy.
also:
So Pros: Its a Jaguar. Cons: Its a Jaguar. Helpful.Pros:
super-wide range of warm tones. stable tuning. Great vibrato system.
Cons:
cramped neck for bigger hands. short scale and lower output pickups mean less sustain.

Oh good I'll have my Premier guitar issue when it gets here! I see they gave it 4.5 on all points - very consistent and strong. But no 5's? I shall be canceling my subscription.
Willcuttguitars has a pic of the Metallic KO, not sure if its too different than any others but another spotting in the wild.

I played one of the BMM anniversary jags today, and it just made me want to play a Johnny Marr.

After an extravagant trip to Denmark st I did it

First impressions - Sounds pretty amazing and it's also the most comfortable guitar I've ever played.
Bad things - I've got a feeling that it's not earthed properly, you know that faint static buzzing until you touch the strings or metal well I'm getting that, pretty faint though, I'll investigate further. I also wish the knob on the pickup selector wasn't silver a bit too much bling.

I think that's due to Jaguars grounding via the player rather than the jack or something. Unless it's really loud, then it probably is a grounding problemmonkeybeats wrote:Bad things - I've got a feeling that it's not earthed properly, you know that faint static buzzing until you touch the strings or metal well I'm getting that, pretty faint though, I'll investigate further.

Agreed! Only thing visually that i dislike about them.I also wish the knob on the pickup selector wasn't silver a bit too much bling.
Congratulations though!

Ah yes, grounding whoops. Bit annoying when you spend so much on a new guitar but sure it'll be an easy fix. Ok, where should I be looking? does the grounding wire on a jag attach to the bridge? I'll search the forum and see what I can find.

SInce the Metallic KO version is supposed to look like a faded CAR, I wonder why they didn't go with a mint guard?
Hopefully some KOs will be landing in the hands of some OSGers soon. I would love to see some more pics!

The 'how soon is now' riff might be the best post hendrix riff i've ever heard.

I just played one of these and it was really good! The neck felt great and it was easily the best playing jaguar I've ever played. I still feel a bit cramped by the scale, but it was much nicer than my CIJ.

When I checked this month Mine was supposed to ship: 4/4 then 4/6 then 4/9 then 4/14 then 4/19 and right now 4/20.... So I am pretty sure that MF will never actually get one...HP Hovercraft wrote:SInce the Metallic KO version is supposed to look like a faded CAR, I wonder why they didn't go with a mint guard?

They don't have any of the whites either. So, I imagine Fender is behind on filling orders all around due to high demand............mekhem wrote:When I checked this month Mine was supposed to ship: 4/4 then 4/6 then 4/9 then 4/14 then 4/19 and right now 4/20.... I would have to think that the hegemony of gc/mf/music123 would be able to get advantageous supply from fender.
Just a little GAS frustration... It reminds me of the sq jmjm. I am sure I will get it soonish.
Generally I would be surprised if Fmic didn't anticipate initial demand for this model. 3 years (?) of development and rumors plus all the pre-release hype, magazine coverage, and a namm release. I am not an expert on guitar production though.
