Does anyone have a photo of Sherwood Green with a tortie or gold 'guard? I just can't grok the white, you know?
this is the closest I got of green + tortoiseshell...the guy who had it, claimed it was a '63 Sherwood Green....maybe the colours of the pic have been messed with...but oh well...here we go

I used to not think to much about Sherwood Green but this thread really made a convert of me. If I could pull a AVRI in Sherwood with a green guard I think I would do it....and switch it out with a god guard -I mean gold guard- to get that old school Gretsch color scheme going....

That's what I do on my Sherwood Green tele! Usually keep the mint guard on, but sometimes throw the gold on.

WOW! I drop a little post on Friday night and go away for the weekend with the kids and come back to a tons of great pics and responses! Thanks so much for posting the pics. I just love the colour so much and I will definately be going green on this one! I was originally thinking gold or tortise guard but some of these pics have me turned around. But first things first is to get it painted. I will post lots of pics once it is done. Thanks again folks!
BTW when my daughter heard me talking about green she came up and told me that I can't paint it green because there is no green Wiggle. She thinks the CAR with white guard is the custom Maton Wiggles guitars and says I can't change it(for those who know about the Wiggles.
Sorry for the parental moment;)

zhivago That looked more like Ocean Turquoise Metallic.
Here is a custom JMB-VI i did for someone in SG and a Tort guard. For what ever reason these arent that great of pictures... I need to put some better ones up.

There weren't very many of those AVRI Sherwood Green ones made were there? I'm looking for an AVRI in either fiesta red or Sherwood and haven't seen one in a while on the 'bay....

GT - I don't know where you could get either one, but I have pics of both in my offset gallery (just to feed your lustful GAS):

hey guys, I'm late to this thread (still working my way through 10 days of posts.... offset overload !!!) , and Jon's comment about the photo that John put up :
You mean with a big hairy arm reflected in it?
when I first saw it, it looked like one of those "jesus guitars" that have been on ebay lately ... you know early 70s, god induced frenzy to paint ones guitar...
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Saw a '59 Sherwood Green w/ gold guard online the other day. All original. One of the coolest looking JM's I've seen in a long time, even though I'm not super fond of gold guards.
