you know the "EXT." jack on the back of the twin isnt for an "extension" speaker its for an external speaker and if you hook another cab up to it you WILL break your amp!!! the idea is to unhook the current speakers and hook up to new ones externally, but they must be rated at 4ohms (if you specific amp is 4ohms that is)EnosEmurf wrote:
Already on it, getting an extension cab as soon as I get paid, just to procure it while the one I want is at such a price. Then I'm replacing my amp's speakers and getting the current one's reconed.
Also, the ohms MUST be within the same range as the current ones (4ohms mine is ) and if you hook up any other ohms you will break your amp.
It doesnt make one bit of difference what watt speakers you use,the ohms being wrong will cost you soooooooooo much money in repairs dude!
not many people are aware of how dangerous ohms are to your amp, let alone know that it will kill it in an instant.
google it and learn man.
my RI twin reverb is 85 watts/4ohms and almost too loud, it has two 100watt jensens and its clean as fuck.
the speaker watts and tubes used determine how loud an amp can get before breaking up, since my amps 85watts into 200 watts of speakers it has no chance of sounding like shit because the speaker watts are over twice what the amp is putting out.
