Re: Bass VI bridge manufacturer
Last I heard, John will be offering these for sale really soon. I sent him all the thoughts and input offered in this thread, and I know he has browsed some other threads as well. Knowing Staytrem's other products, this looks set to be a killer bridge!

Re: Bass VI bridge manufacturer
Okay, so John from Staytrem just sent me a 7.25" prototype bridge (this guy... to say he is a class act would be an understatement). After playing with it for a few hours, this looks set to cure all of our Bass VI bridge problems. Such a solid design. The one I received is 1" wide, but he mentioned in an e-mail that he got the intonation right-on with a narrower baseplate. He might offer them both.

Well... that's ONE less thing to worry about if you were to build/mod a Bass VI.

this is good news.
The bridge was the only thing keeping me from getting the pawnshop VI.

That looks fantastic Krayuns. I've got a Staytrem bridge in my Jag and it's a great piece of kit.
Did John mention when he was intending to put these on sale?

I hope they do decide to do the narrower baseplate version as I am not willing to give up my mute.Krayuns wrote:Okay, so John from Staytrem just sent me a 7.25" prototype bridge (this guy... to say he is a class act would be an understatement). Just ordered one for my MIJ VI. I hope this will quiet some of the rattling I've been battling.

Re: Bass VI bridge manufacturer
This is really frustrating me. I use the VI daily and really wan't a better bridge option but I can't loose that mute. I use the mute a lot. A 1" Bass VI mute would solve my problem but may be the hardest of all parts to source.
I sent them an email before I found this thread and saw it was 1" channel. This is the response I got.

So maybe I'll get a nice bridge one day.Hi
I am sorry but these will not work with a standard size mute, this would
need to be removed, I will add this as a note to the Ebay listing.
I might be producing a narrower version at a later date for those who do not
have problems with setting the intonation on their bass within the width of
a standard Jaguar width bridge.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Regards
John

Re: Bass VI bridge manufacturer
I ordered one the other day..Didn't see this thread until this morning. I ordered the 9.5 radius based on the USACG site that their necks (which is what I am using) have a compound radius that goes 7.25 to 9.5. I'll know if I made the right decision soon.
