Dealing with Andertons feels grubby though, like handing money to a schoolyard bully. One of their sales 'experts' kindly explained to me that 'good brands' like Fender, Squire and G&L don't send out guitars that need a set up. My G&L Tribute bass arrived with a dead section in the neck above the octave. Danish Pete and Rabea seem ok but the others generally take a real dim-bulb approach to offsets, Gretsches and (especially) Rickenbacker. The 'Clash of the Shite-uns' videos on Squire and other budget brands is really tasteless and I am shocked that Rickenbacker would even sell them stock after the last 'promo' I saw.
It always blows my mind that they have zero knowledge of anything that isn’t a strat or tele! Like if fender does a nod to the cbs era like the Coronados they are clueless that they even existed! I’ve never worked in a guitar shop but I can list off all the oddballs, lol like know you’re product for fucks sake and the history!
I think it's the sneering that gets to me. That combination of arrogance and ignorance is really off-putting. I've seen clips of the main guy totally slagging off or laughing at Squire, Fender and Rickenbacker gear, to the point I'm surprised he wasn't contacted about it by the companies. The minute you step outside blues-rock territory, he seems way out of his depth... but no less prepared to offer definitive judgments on things. If he sets the tone for the company's culture, the high-handedness of the sales person I dealt with is unsurprising.
Need I say "fuck Andertons" again?
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Not until the top of the next page. And the page after.

Felt slimy the two times I bought from them. Was not impressed either time.

I've always had good luck with Andertons. always extremely eager to help, but then I go in the shop...but then I don't put up with any shit and again confront any issues directly face to face in the shop. ..but yeh most of them including the owner have no clue about anything outside of a strat. Thats aways been the case, long before they got popular on youtube.. Lee Anderton's forte is business..but when it comes to the tones of Sonic Youth and the Birthday Party or anything about music culture outside of his paper-thin bandwidth...not so good. ;D

This is evident on the video demonstrating the fender shields blender! I think if they hadn’t had joff from wolf Alice it’d have been a car crash but you can tell Anderson’s ain’t got the foggiest about Kevin shields even though the guy has been around and revered in guitar circles since the late 80s!

The release is getting closer. :) The lack of matching headstocks on the Mustangs is still a crime though.

Exciting times - they look very nice.

I think Fender are busy finalising their promo text ahead of the release. Here’s a sneak peek at one of the adverts.

=====================================================

NEW VINTERA II SERIES RELEASED

Baby it’s all right now, with our new Vintera II line of guitars.

Here at Fender, we’ve had a long-standing reputation for extending the middle finger to lefty guitarists.

The brand new Vintera II line keeps this tradition alive, as we release a swathe of beautiful new models, all orientated the way God intended.

Including the quintessential Strats and Teles, plus less common retro models like the Fender VI, the Vintera II line faithfully recreates favourites from the heady days of the 1960s.

Featuring highly desirable colour schemes, such as Lake Placid Blue and Competition Orange, these are bound to turn heads - especially those of our lefty step-brothers and sisters watching from the sidelines.

If you’re interested in playing the proper way, stop by your local Fender dealer to try some Vintera II guitars, and we’re sure you’ll find one you want to take home.

And to all our lefty ‘friends’, you are once again cordially invited to go fuck yourselves - after all, what have you ever done for us?

In shops September 25

Really surprised they showed off the Jag with all those models to choose from. It looks great, sounds pretty good too although the tremolo masks it's sound somewhat. I wonder what pickups will come in these.

Am I right in saying we haven't seen the Black Jag IRL yet? I'm pretty sure I've only seen stock photos
