None, unfortunately. But he just kept handing me guitars and it was as incredible as you would expect.

Somewhat frustratingly confirmed by J in this interview. Gimme gimme gimme. Hey Fender, please remember that Dinosaur Jr fans don't have Jason Isbell fan money.

Re: Fender J. Mascis Telecaster
I love Dinosaur Jr., I've been wanting a Telecaster-style guitar lately, and I'm obsessed with sparkle finishes. This feels like something I should want, but I've never liked the idea of signature guitars and have sold the couple that I've owned.
It's cool that they're doing it, though.

Re: Fender J. Mascis Telecaster
I get that for sure. I've had a lot of signature guitars in & out over the years and still have a few (Squier Mascis, a JMJ Mustang, Steve Harris P-bass). I'm sure I'll be getting one of these as soon as they're out - currently have no (functional) S/S Teles and a specific affinity for blue sparkle and big maple necks.

Oh boy. I'm getting a Paisley Tele soon, but this... this perks up my interest.

Looks like it’s $2500?
Road Worn neck and hardware — I had those pegged as MIM features but the price says MIA.

Just saw this on fb. Don't know the source and like written above it seems to have Road Worn features all according to the rumours but the price tag says MIA. Could also just be wrong. Personally I wish they'd have done a USA J Mascis Jazzmaster signature similar in price and quality to the Marr.

Re: Fender J. Mascis Telecaster
The part number (014 prefix) suggests it's MIM. (MIA would be 011, MIJ would start with a 5, I think.)
$2500 - no matter the currency/whether that's list or street - is an awful lot for a Mexican-made guitar.
Enough to stop me from buying one? A fool and his money, etc.

Re: Fender J. Mascis Telecaster
Then that price is definitely wrong. No way Fender will release a MIM at $2500 lol.dropthebeat wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 7:47 amThe part number (014 prefix) suggests it's MIM. (MIA would be 011, MIJ would start with a 5, I think.)

Oh, good. It has an aged neck. I was worried I might be convinced to buy this thing. Don't need to worry about the price now, either.
Crisis averted.

Re: Fender J. Mascis Telecaster
Supposedly it's Australian Dollar price, not US and so a lot less. I wrote this article and a few people commented/contacted me saying the source from there.
