So sad. I wanted to order some brushed Jaguar plates again from Faction, but alas…
Yeah, there were some plates I was eventually looking to get... I hope that everything's OK for both, even if they're quitting.
Where did you see they were quitting? Just because he’s on a hiatus doesn’t mean he’s quitting. I play music at events. Sometimes once a month. This year it’s only been once every 6 months. He very well could just be working when he wants. Just slowed down to accommodate my other life goals. I don’t think we should assume he quit. He’s successful. He may or may not resume when he wants to
Indeed. What it has said on the website for a couple of months is he’s moving workshop. Not responding to messages yet So I’ll wait and see.
For all we know he might be somewhere nice and sunny for the 🥶 winter.

UPDATE
Heard back via someone else.
1 - He's fine
2 - He is still trading but had to move house and workshop = double whammy
3 - He's slowly started to make guards again

This beautiful pickguard arrived from the UK today. The gentleman behind Lava Pickguards is currently setting up a new shop but I thought I would enquire if he had a JM guard available. And he did. Paul was a pleasure to deal with. This guard is going on my next JM project. I think it will match well with a see through blond finish (that has yellowed a bit).

Shoutout to Paul!
I reached out via email since his shop wasn't up and running yet and he gave me the choice of two pickguards, one new one relic. I went with the relic guard and it arrived this weekend. Can't wait to get this on a sunburst body, it looks amazing when the light hits it.

Here is my Lavaguard after a few years now. Next to our new kitten, Bob. I think this was the first one he sold on this forum, or maybe one of the first.

I want to order from him so bad but it's already such a pain in the ass trying to find something that fits my CIJ in the first place, can't imagine how long things would take if I had to send my pickguard just to make sure the cut is right.

Here’s my 80’s E series MIJ with Staytrem and newly fitted Lavaguard.
Original was nasty.
Legit.

Full shot. It’s a little more red IRL and the guitar is more yellow. Looks great though I think.

That’s a push/pull series tone knob, and a high pass and low pass with engage switch in place of rhythm circuit, courtesy of the fine chaps at TinyTone. Kinman Surfmasters with 500k. Very cool guitar.

May I ask what the Witch Hats are? They look good.

Actually I’m not sure I’m afraid. They may have come from Tiny Tone in Manchester who did the (excellent) wiring to what was previously a pearl guard. Sorry.

Just received my guard from Paul today. It's completely transformed my Jaguar. Lavaguards are indeed legit!
