Yep, Lavaguards are legit!! The stock Fender guard from my 2005 AVRI looks comically bad in comparison. Paul does an incredible job with these pickguards, so stoked.
The Lavaguard looks great, genuinely wouldn't have blinked twice at that being an original.

But this post really drives home the question, why do Fender keep dropping the ball on tort guards? Even Custom Shop level stuff looks terrible. The comparison above is so bad it almost makes the whole guitar look fake.

We know it can be done, why don't they?

Yeah I’m super happy with how it turned out looking. And yes I’m with you, why can’t Fender come thru on this? When I was swapping the guards I was genuinely shocked at how shitty the Fender one was. Lavaguard made my guitar look like it’s truly from the 60s
