Pumpkin, just imagine it is Christmas. You are a little kid and of course have an overwhelming desire for a shiny red Jazzmaster.
You parents say "WHAAAT, you'll deafen yourself and shoot your ear out!, Absolutely NO! Now go do your homework!".
So you spend the next few months being the best kid any parent could ever want.
Surely they will see that you should have such a fine instrument!
So Christmas eve you go to bed dripping with anticipation, but tinged with the distinct possibility that there may be no God, no Santa Claus, and worse of all, no Red JM under the tree in the morning.
Well you wake up the next morning and go downstairs and open your gifts - mostly underwear, shoes, canned hams, range oil - shit you could care less about .. and then your dad says, hey Pumpkin, what is that flat box over there?
Heart pounding you tear the wrapper off and open the carton to REVEAL.......................
I'll let you finish the fantasy..
